George James (Jim) Ward

Jim's attachment to the north started at birth on a farm about 12 miles north of New Liskeard. He attended Coutsville school in the country (two concessions east of Thornloe) and after a short stint at New Liskeard High School he spent his entire life servicing the retail trade in New Liskeard, Haileybury and Elliot Late.

His love of the north is summed up by a comment to his sister while standing on his back porch looking out over the valley east of North Cobalt "I'll bet three quarters of the people in this world would rather be where I am than where they are."

A contribution to the Food Forever Fund is a fitting way for him to say thanks to the north.
