Ralph & Isabel Ramsay Fund

W.R. (Ralph) Ramsay practiced law, first in Cobalt and then in New Liskeard, from 1932 until his retirement in 1989. He was an active community minded person, involved in both Cobalt and New Liskeard Kiwanis Clubs, was a member of the New Liskeard Parks and Recreation Commission where he fought to retain the waterfront in public ownership, a member of New Liskeard Board of Education, New Liskeard Library Board, and worked on many fund raising and other community projects.

He was a director of Northern Telephone Limited, Canadian Lundia Limited, Wabi Iron Works Limited,  Rexwood Products Limited, Temiskaming Printing Limited and John Clark Building Enterprises Limited.

Ralph loved sports, and was an avid baseball player and fan; tennis golf and skating were favorite pastimes.

Both Ralph and Isabel held a deep religious faith, and were  hard working members of St. Paul’s United Church.

Isabel was also involved in community activities and supported Ralph in his involvement.

The family of the late Ralph and Isabel Ramsay established this fund in their memory. The income from the fund will be used for the benefit of the community as determined by the Board of Directors.
