George Morissette Parkinson Fund

George Morissette (1928 - 2005)

George was very involved in the community in which he lived, from being a leader in business to being a member of Haileybury Town Council to presiding over several different service clubs and local boards of directors. He and Elaine raised six children, who were their pride and joy and he lived to see fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren. When diagnosed with Parkinson's disease he founded Parkinson's Exercise groups in Haileybury and in Florida. George was one of the visionary founding members of our board of directors and set up a fund dedicated to support research and education of Parkinson's Disease.

There are many things to write about the life of George Morissette but perhaps it is best captured by the words his son expressed in his eulogy that "Dad lived a rich and full life with honour and integrity. Dad's love of God, his love of his family and his love for his community were the three guiding principles of his life."
