Clement Miron Fund

Clement Miron (1935-2004) A fund has been established in memory of Clement Miron, a resident of the Tri-Town area for over thirty five years. Clement leaves behind a rich legacy in terms of his contributions to the field of education, to the advancement of Francophone issues, and to community service. Clement Miron was a pioneer in education in the Tri Towns and Temiskaming, having joined Ecole Secondaire Ste-Marie (ESSM) at the time of its inception in 1969. His name is synonymous with ESSM due to his nearly 20 years of service there. He subsequently took his innovative spirit to the Timiskaming Board of Education and established the cooperative education program, for which he received provincial recognition. Finally, Clement was on of the “founding fathers” of College Boreal in northern Ontario, and in fact became the inaugural director of the New Liskeard campus. The francophone community in northern Ontario is indebted to Clement for his significant contributions to the advancement and awareness of francophone issues. Clement was also an active contributor to civic and community issues, The Temiskaming Foundation and Club Richelieu among others.
